General Visual Line-of-Sight Certificate (GVC) - ONLINE THEORY
The GVC covers all aspects of being a commercial drone operator.
You'll be enrolled on our learning system to complete some pre-learning modules prior to the course start. If you're coming from a non-aviation background there is a lot of information to assimilate, so we strongly recommend completing the modules and practice tests to prepare yourself for the groundschool.
The first 2 days are theory training, culminating in a multiple choice exam. You will cover the CAA mandated syllabus over the two days and, with access to current operational pilots, access to years of industry experience that you can't get with an online tutorial course.
Day 3 is optional, and is for those that are ready for their flight assessment. If you feel you're not quite there, you can add an hour of 1-2-1 training to bring you up to speed.
A requirement of the GVC, and subsequent application to the CAA for your Operational Authorisation, is the writing of an Operations Manual. But, don't worry, we will supply a pre-approved template for you to fill in, and guidance on how to do it.
You will also fly a practical assessment at our dedicated location in Ayrshire. Just 20 minutes from Glasgow and 10 minutes from Kilmarnock, and with good links to the motorway, Craufurdland Castle is a stunning setting in which to show off your newly acquired piloting skills.
